SVG Ministry Introduces New Sport to All Saints University College of Medicine

The Department of Sports in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture has offered to introduce Road Tennis to our institution.

Road Tennis is a lively and competitive sport that originated in Barbados in the 1930s. It is played outdoors and has similar game play and equipment to table tennis but without the table. Road Tennis has started to gain international appeal especially among tennis enthusiasts in the United States.

Last month officers from the St. Vincent Department of Sports in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture visited our Belair Campus. They graciously presented our staff and students with the required equipment needed to successfully introduce this sport to the student body.

Pictured above starting from the far left is Mr. Luis deShong, Principal Assistant Registrar, 4th from left is Dr. Zahangir Boksh and ASU Pathology and Histology Professor,  second from right is Mr. Kendall Cumberbatch the ASU Sports & Fitness Coordinator and Far Right is Mr. Dyke Cato a Sports officer in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture along with a few of our MD students.

Thank you to Mr. Dyke Cato and his colleagues from the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture for their visit and contributions to ASU!
