All Saints University School of Medicine offers six types of programs; Bachelors of Science (Nursing), Bachelors of Science (Life Sciences), the Five Year MD Degree Program, the Four Year MD Degree Program, PhD in Life Sciences (Microbiology), and PhD in Life Sciences (Immunology).
4 YEAR MD PROGRAM
The 4 Year MD program is for students who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or have completed the premedical
requirements which normally consist of: – Biology – 90 semester hours
- Chemistry – 90 semester hours
- Physics – 90 semester hours
- Courses in Mathematics, Calculus, English and Liberal Arts
The 4-year MD degree program can be completed in 3 years and 4 months.
THE 5 YEAR MD PROGRAM
The five year MD program is designed for high school or secondary school graduates.This program comprises the premedical
component of 4 semesters duration, the Basic Medical Science phase of five semesters duration and the Clinical Clerkship
Phase of 6 semesters (72 weeks) duration. The premedical components of the 5-year program are as spelt out above in
addition to introductory courses in Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.
The 5-year MD degree program can be completed in 4 years and 8 months.
B.SC. (NURSING) and B.SC. (LIFE SCIENCES) DEGREE PROGRAMS
All Saints University School of Medicine offers 4-Year (8 semesters) Bachelor of Science degree programs in Nursing and Life Sciences.
Applicants must possess a high school/secondary school diploma or certificate with credits in Mathematics or Calculus, English and Science subjects, including Chemistry and Biology.
Students completing the Nursing or Life Science degree program may be eligible to transfer to the 4-Year and 5-Year Doctor of Medicine degree program upon successful completion of all the prerequisite courses.
Students completing Bachelor of Science (Life Sciences) degree program may have the option of majoring in Microbiology or Laboratory Science.
Students with an Associate degree or diploma in Nursing may be granted admission into the second year of the 4-Year B.Sc. (Nursing) program. Such students will be required to complete the degree program over a period of six semesters.
PH.D. DEGREE PROGRAM (MICROBIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY) OR MEDICAL SCIENCES
Duration: 3 years
Opportunities are available for individuals with earned Master of Science or MD degree to complete Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Microbiology and Immunology or Medical Sciences.
Applicants may be eligible for stipends and research grants to facilitate completion of the Ph.D. degree program. Students from recognized medical schools may be admitted as transfer students upon evaluation of their credentials. The admissions committee of All Saints University of Medicine will review all candidates’ applications before admission.
