Doctor of Medicine Program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
There are two program options for the Doctor of Medicine MD degree program:
The 5 Year MD program (Premed, Basic Sciences and Clinical Clerkships)
- The 5 Year program includes a premedical component for students who do not have the required prerequisite courses to begin the Basic Scenes component.
- The 4 Year MD Program (Basic Sciences and Clinical Clerkships)
- For students who have already achieved the prerequisites they may apply for the 4 Year program and begin the Basic Sciences component.
General Science Component

- 4 Semesters – 15 Weeks Each
- 1 Year 4 Months Total
Basic Sciences Component

- In St. Vincent ASUSVG Campus
- 5 Semesters – 15 Weeks Each
- 1 Year 8 Months Total
Clinical Clerkships

- In USA, UK or Caribbean Teaching Hospitals
- 7 Semesters
- 6 semesters x 12 Weeks Each
- 1 semester x 8 weeks
- 80 Weeks Total
Total Program Duration
4 Years 10 Months – 6 Years 6 Months depending on program type chosen while filling out application.

Required Documents Before Submitting Your Application Form:
- Transcripts (Grades)
- Scanned copies will be accepted for the purpose of your online application. However, all college/university students will need to have their official transcripts sent to the Registrar’s Office directly from their previous institution.
- Clinical Transfer Students: If you are transferring from another medical school please provide your NBME CBSE or USMLE Step 1 results, if available
- 1 – 2 Recommendation Letters
- Signed, dated and on letterhead
- From someone who knows you in an academic capacity
- Can not be from a relative
- Personal Statement
- About why you want to be a doctor
- Identification
- Copy of your passport Bio page OR any other government issued ID
